Be a part of BCS’ latest initiative – Social Art Park. Help transform a forgotten place of Belconnen by creating a temporary art installation to give it colour, warmth and heart.
You can be part of the creation process, which could include temporary seating, yarn bombing and even play elements. Anything fun, creative and inviting. Or simply come along and enjoy the installations.
Creative art workshops will explore ‘who we are, what we like about Belco’ and how we want to make it better’.
Workshops will be held Wednesday’s from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Belconnen Youth Centre:
Join Wellspring Environmental Arts & Design and other local artists in hands-on art-making workshops. Following BCS’ goal for an inclusive connected community this project will be open to all community members and aims to dissolve social barriers.
The artworks will be installed in early May and kept in the area till early June. In addition to art-making there will be arts and celebration activities in the space once the installations are in place. Let’s share our artistic skills, meet new people and bring life back into a neglected part of Belconnen.
This is an artsACT funded project.
