Be a part of BCS’ latest initiative. Social Art Park will demonstrate the transformative power of art by creating a temporary installation in a forgotten place of Belconnen.
You can be a part of the creation process – or simply come along and enjoy the installations.
Working with Wellspring Environmental Arts & Design and other local artists BCS will involve young people aged 13 – 25 in workshops and hands-on artmaking.
Workshops will be held Wednesday’s from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at the Belconnen Youth Centre:
Artworks could include temporary seating for the area, yarn bombing, other temporary artworks from recyclable materials, colour, or even play elements. Anything fun, creative and inviting!
Our Youth Engagement team will also facilitate a mural painting workshop in the area as part of the Youth School Holiday Program.
The artworks will be installed in early May and kept in the area till early June. In addition to art-making there will be arts and celebration activities in the space once the installations are in place. Let’s share our artistic skills, meet new people and bring life back into a neglected part of Belconnen.
This is an artsACT funded project.
