About

Art + Mind is a themed Arts Therapy evening group program for adults.

Facilitated by registered Arts Therapists, the group is a safe, confidential space to explore creative approaches to recovery and wellness.

The same participants will meet regularly over a ten-week period.

The group will focus on a specific mental health theme and hands-on creative activities each week.

Themes will include:

  • Using senses to change your mood
  • Why nature is essential for health
  • Drawing for mindfulness
  • How the body holds emotions and experiences
  • Art as a method of problem solving.

The workshops will be hands on and fun. No experience in art is necessary.

Art + Mind groups are limited to 12 participants.

Our Arts Therapists

Capital Region Community Services employees accredited Registered Arts Therapists who are professional members of the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA).

Our Arts Therapists have a Masters degree in Arts Therapy and meet professional standards to maintain their registration.

    On Thursdays, the Youth Centre sets up activities including Dungeons & Dragons, board games and study spaces.
