Fitness has been at the heart of the Belconnen Community Centre (BCC) since it was first built in 1986. The current gym has been a cornerstone of the facility for over twenty years, providing a range of group exercise classes for the community. The classes are suitable for people of all fitness levels and abilities, with many classes specifically tailored to suit mature participants hoping to maintain and improve their fitness in later life.
The BCC Fitness program offers publicly accessible classes on weekdays. Classes are structured to meet a variety of needs, with classes focusing on gentle exercise, machine-weights, free weights, and aerobic cardiovascular exercise. Class are suitable for people of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
The BCC Fitness program is a low-cost fitness option, with no membership fees, affordable classes and a flexible multi-class card system.
Improve your fitness and functional strength for your daily activities. This class combines machine exercises with basic free weight exercises.
A class intended for the more mature person. Improve strength, balance and coordination to help improve your everyday activities.
This program is specifically designed for people with Multiple Sclerosis to maintain and improve strength and balance.
This class is a fixed choreographed weights class and is aimed at toning the muscles, strengthening the bones, increasing the body’s metabolism and burning unwanted fat.
A falls prevention and health promotion program. Sessions include exercises to encourage free and easy daily movement, and information on nutrition & lifestyle.
This gentle, women only exercise class for people living with mental illness gives participants an opportunity to increase fitness, make new friends and increase confidence.
This program is a low impact cardio, strength based gym class that will include sessions such as cross trainer, interval training, and low impact boxing.
Badminton is a great way to keep your mind and body sharp, and Belconnen Community Centre offers a Social Group suitable for players of all levels.
